This paper aims to study some of the factors that influence the sectoral diffusion of innovation. The final objective is to arrive at a model of innovation diffusion in order to analyse how different economic policies can help to promote it. In the first place, an exploratory analysis is carried out in which some new statistics such as the sectoral autocorrelation coefficient are used. Secondly, causal analysis is conducted through a sectoral econometric model, where the input-output technical coefficient matrix is used as intersectoral interdependence. The proposed model is applied to the Spanish economy using data for the periods 1995 and 2001. 1 (DRAFT VERSION, please do not reference it)
